The event at the Silverthorne Pavillion looks like another great idea to get new ways to market our businesses.  In this economy I'm wondering what people do to get more business. Any ideas?

Bill -- I mostly agree with what you're saying -- if there is no traffic to a website there is no sense in spending a dime to get it upgraded to some flashy version of the older model. The key is always about engaging the customer -- a…

Judi, I like your thinking and I would take it a step further; a website is probably the last thing a small business needs to get to be successful. http://summitbusinessnetwork.net/profiles/blogs/hypothesis-small-businesses :-)

Word of Mouth Marketing For Small Business Professionals!

Posted on June 4, 2010 at 2:06pm 2 Comments

I recently read a great book by Andy Sernovitz called Word of

Mouth Marketing – How Smart Companies Get People Talking
– and here I

am talking about him – so I guess it must work!

We all know that mass marketing is fast becoming a thing of the past. Sure, you can still get your yellow pages ad, and maybe an ad in the paper, or my “personal favorite”, your ‘brochuuuuuure’…but all this

really is, is static advertising.

It just sits…

Having a Website Is Not the Same As Having An Online Marketing Strategy!

Posted on May 25, 2010 at 4:00pm 5 Comments

There are some “must have” criteria for your website to be considered to be a strong marketing tool. Take a critical look at your website right not to see if you have these elements in place. You’ll want a specific online marketing strategy that:

  • lays the ground work for gathering information about your customers and prospects,
  • plans the best way to segment your market,
  • creates a communication strategy on a regular…

Hey Judi - Thanks for the invite!

I'm in Florida, finishing the funding for our green technology projects which has been a 5 year venture! It's keeping me over the top busy but things are finally moving forward so I believe it will be well worth the long pursuit.

Hello to all in the Summit - missing the mountain paradise with all the heat and humidity down here. I have no idea why people want to live here, especially in the summer! :-) Looking forward to being back up in the Summit where we really call our home!

Right, only facebook, our great life, twitter, cinch, linked in, namyz, plaxo, CAR tech committee googlegroup (I lead this committee for the state), Chamber diplomats, rotartact googlegroup, activerain, gist, both blogsites and the cyberstar professionals, have been taking up my SBN on-line time. This site is great but there are lots of sites out there. Good luck with your new business venture and remember- if you can get 2% of people to do 10% of the technology you reccommend, consider that successful.
